Remote sensing

INFORMATION MATTERS

Bendre, R. Thool, and V. Thool denotes that information and technological communications (ICT) plays a big role in precision agriculture. Its role in technological tools accommodates “hardware, software and practices to gather data, process, visualize and decision making.” (Bendre, R. Thool, and V. Thool, 2015, p.745) An example of this is remote sensing in precision agriculture. Its purpose collects large sum of data from a distant location by means of agriculture equipment’s that are wired which are linked to “wireless sensors mounted on drones, aircraft’s, or satellite and grounded in the field used for plant monitoring, soil sensing,  disaster management and many agricultural applications” (Bendre, R. Thool, and V. Thool, 2015, p.746)”. Using agricultural drone, data becomes easier to gather for farmers, resourcefully managing decision that can increase profit. Jensen (2019) claims this provides farmers with accuracy rather than speculating data.  It observes and measures by mapping any existing issues and coming up with solutions that will provide the best outcome for the field. Certain types of drones also give the options to have a single person piloting to monitor livestock. In return this enables faster tracking rate which saves money in having to invest on staff.
